Baden Powell High Adventure Camp
Baden Powell High Adventure Camp (BPHAC) is a traditional Scout camp with a difference – it offers a combination of an excellent merit badge program and a fully fledged high adventure program. Not only that, but it offers an extensive first year camper program, known as ACE.
The camp itself is sited at Hesley Wood Scout Activity Centre, the British Scout Association’s South Yorkshire County Scout Camp. The camp is easy to find, being just minutes away from Britain’s main motorway, the M1. The site is situated to take advantage of all that the surrounding area has to offer – from caving to white water kayaking, and from hundreds of acres of open moor land to one of Europe’s largest shopping malls. Hesley Wood provides BPHAC with a range of facilities including a swimming pool, indoor rifle range, climbing tower, newly renovated shower house and two obstacle courses. Each campsite is in a wooded location with an alter fire and nearby water point.
BPHAC is a patrol cooking camp, allowing your Scouts to hone and improve their outdoor skills while your troop is at summer camp. Each troop or patrol prepares their own meals using food from the camp’s central commissary.
We will be attending Baden Powell High Adventure Camp from June 25th to July 1st.
